There is a painful past in the history of mankind that cannot be washed away; it is called Holocaust. Now the human race, either in the position of perpetrators of the inhumane slaughter or in the position of those who cowardly tolerated it in silence- deeply regrets this massacre. They have made a pledge to the UN Genocide Convention to try to prevent any similar catastrophe.
However, before the pain of the past has healed, we are once again shocked by a brutality more intense than the Holocaust that is happening in North Korea at this very moment.
Shin Dong-hyuk, who barely survived and escaped this massacre, tries to expose the realities that he himself lived in NK. He does this for his people who are still living in the hell called North Korea.
The Reality and Witnesses
Many North Korean citizens who have been raised under the idolatrous brainwashing and worship of Kim Il Sung are attempting to leave North Korea and cross the border into China. They are desperate to escape starvation and continual lack of food. These conditions exist because the regime is concerned only with sustaining itself while the people continue to suffer. However, the moment they cross the river into China, North Korean defectors are denied any legal protection and are treated worse than dogs or livestock. They are sold into human trafficking rings and treated like slave labor while living in fear. If they are caught by the Chinese government, they are forcibly repatriated by the Chinese authorities to North Korea, they face public execution or political prison camp.
However among the defectors there are those who have miraculously survived and have resettled in South Korea. By inviting these defectors as witnesses and hearing their stories on the Inside NK talk shows, the truth of North Korea’s human rights violations will be exposed from the veil of secrecy, and the stories of these defectors resettling into a life of freedom in South Korea will be heard.
NK NEWS UPDATES
Recently, the college students who are interested in North Korean human rights are establishing student groups on various campuses. You can join them or start your own group, start to learn more and to speak up more to those who are not aware of the tragedy of mankind that will be greatly regretted in generations to come. For those who want to know more, we invite defectors to give their testimonies and various education programs, so that many college students could become aware of the North Korean human rights situation.
We also need helps from you. We are looking for volunteers who can help us on moderating events and education programs. Most importantly, if you know NK defectors who are willing to testify their real life stories inside North Korea, do not hesitate to introduce us. We will deliver their messages out to the world.
